Robert “Bob” E. Morris, 81, of Sweet Home, died Aug. 10, 2008.

Services were held Aug. 14 at Riverside Christian Church with committal services following at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.

He was born in Coquille and attended Lebanon schools.

Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific.

He married the former Mary Grimes in Corvallis. The family later moved to Sweet Home.

On May 18, 1975, he married Betty Donovan.

Mr. Morris worked as a commercial fisherman, mill worker and truck driver.

In addition to his wife Betty he is survived by his sons David Morris, of Belle Forche, S. D., Bob Morris of Sweet Home, Dan Donovan of Coos Bay, and Bruce Donovan of Lake Stevens, Wash.; daughters Susan Steagall, Debbie Ottree and Laurie (Leonard) Deffenbaugh, all of Sweet Home, Debra Creasey of Gold Hill, Cheryl Donovan of La Pine, and Theresa Kallio and Amber Morris, both of Bend; sister Frances Stock of Sweet Home; brother Richard Morris of Junction City; 45 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

His first wife Mary; sons Johnny Morris and Keith Donovan; sisters Winnefred Robertson and Burnita Elliott; brothers Bud, Earl, Bill and Dean Morris; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren died before he did.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
